Polytechnic University (PolyU) is a specialized technical school in Hong Kong, where I attended college in the late 1970s. Unlike HKU, particularly HKUST, which focuses on scientific research, PolyU's main focus is on practical training and preparing students for careers after graduation. The competitive atmosphere in Hong Kong is evident at all universities, with unemployment rates of approximately 15% at HKU, 20% at HKUST, and only 10% at PolyU. This stark contrast would be unheard of among top universities in mainland China where most students pursue graduate studies. Therefore, vocational services and hands-on experience are highly emphasized at universities in Hong Kong as the primary goal is to secure employment after graduation.
As MM (management and marketing) is the normal configuration, employability university ranking poly MM should be just as good as MM (management and marketing).
LGT (supply chain management and logistics companies, etc.) graduated from the docks, and the salary issue seems to be a good one considering the nature of technical school education.
Several ACEs are classified as accounting (ACCT), accounting and finance (AF), or financial services (FS). Personally, criticizing the combination of ACCT and FS as a new profession can be seen as mocking the professions of accounting and finance. In reality, ACCT in f minor is not significantly different from the AF category. Poly, known for its technical education, is highly regarded for its accounting program but falls short in teaching finance. I am currently pursuing a degree in finance at a mainland university through Zhihu. The stark contrast between the two is almost tear-jerking.
The accountant is polyu's trump card. This is because polyu has ties with the Big Four (the project managers and the Big Four partners know each other). Many people go back for internships in the spring of their third year of university, and polyu's internship program is a graduation requirement, so many people have some work experience before graduation, which is why employers prefer polyu graduates.
Work directly after graduation is a beneficial choice for those interested in studying accounting. However, entering the four major banks may not be too challenging for mainland students, but it becomes more difficult if your goal is to work at Ib. This elite bank only accepts a handful of applicants every year. The Financial Secretary is known to have sold insurance as a legend. This is because PolyU, with its strict admission policies, tends to suppress students from the top three ethnic groups in Hong Kong, making it even harder for them to get into Ib. As for Bank of China Hong Kong, it may be an option, but getting into Birch or HSBC? Good luck with that. Local students often have to work part-time while studying, and their Mandarin skills do not give them any advantage over mainland students when searching for jobs. They also lack access to local resources.
The Postgraduate Admission Test is the key to entering the top three schools. If accepted into a university in the United States, it is rumored that you can attend a prestigious specialized school (whose name may be unfamiliar). Finance? Forget about it. A master's degree in finance has always been notoriously challenging to obtain. For years, hardly any individuals from AF managed to gain admission into an Ivy League institution, and even making it into the Top 20 was rare. Of course, there were some financial experts who graduated from MIT who were also interviewed. However, another option would be to work for two years in accounting before transitioning to a bank or pursuing further education with an MBA. But those years of hard work were not without struggle, as accountants were paid similar salaries to dishwashers in a local fish shop (around $1,100 per month), maybe slightly higher but still not ideal for an auditing position. Approximately four consulting firms offer starting salaries exceeding $20,000.
In truth, Poly's business school offers few alumni information resources, internships, or social exchange programs.
Di Yuan (School of Architecture and environment) offers a diverse range of courses, including civil engineering, construction equipment, surveying and mapping, among others. These programs have been consistently ranked highly by US News, with earthworks securing 10th place worldwide. The ongoing construction projects in Hong Kong were also brought up during a dinner with our beloved president Don, who mentioned plans to fill in the exit of the red tunnel and develop the PolyU campus. This is expected to create job opportunities for graduates of Di Yuan in the coming years. I have a friend who highly recommends the school and its top-performing students, describing the atmosphere as "very good".
The IC training in civil engineering will be discussed later, and when to mix cement and learn what is another matter (unclear).

The computer class at engineering school impressed me well. There is a club that can guide our students in the direction of entrepreneurship, application (practical application), and research with the help of their own mentors, though the intensity of the mainland issue cannot be compared. College students face a lot of pressure when it comes to taking the Postgraduate Admission Test because scores are low.
A former senior went to Union Bank (well, engineering was easier). Other minor majors don't understand. Electronic and Information Engineering and Electrical Engineering are popular in the Mainland.
The Polyu campus is home to an IC (industrial center), which means all engineering students attend the Hong Kong Institution of Engineers for practical training. As a businessman, I am envious, but I also hear many engineering students complain.
Despite Hong Kong's poor industry, it has many overseas countries and good opportunities for personal exchanges.

It seems China Clothing Product Design (ITC) belongs to the Academy of Fine Arts. It is highly recommended because of its quality and interest.

Mainland students can only enroll in ophthalmology and optometry (OS). Like nursing, it's a major with a starting salary of more than 2.5w, and it's also a trump card at PolyU.
There is a famous University of Technology School of Design. If you are truly interested in learning design, then design is actually quite good (except for architectural design).

I don't think it's practical, even accounting is more practical.
Besides having a very rich after-school life, the geographical location is also good. There are very few clubs, and many of them are pretty low quality. There are so many clubs in universities in Taiwan Province, so colorful (OK, there is harmony here) ; there are clubs in mainland China too. There is a problem with mainland students being trapped in the "Mainland student community."
